[50 Shades of Mizzix] : Mizzix Mill

Hello Everyone! I’m back with the third installment of 50 Shades of Mizzix! As some of you may know from my twitter feed, I am in Korea. I will post the fourth installment when I get back to catch up with ourselves.

This week has a very blue deck: Mill! We run 15 Mill spells, and as always, plenty of ways to recast them from the graveyard. Playing mill is a challenge in commander, considering the size of commander decks. Your only hope playing this deck is that you can slip under the radar and let people fight it out, then in a short burst, mill the remaining players out.

The deckbuilding experience led to some interesting discoveries, my favorite being this card:

This card combines control magic with milling, which I find extremely creative and cool.

Surprisingly, Izzet is not a good milling color. The most efficient mill spells are actually of House Dimir. However, Mizzix never using black magic, or green or white for that matter. This deck turned out pretty badly, without enough good, efficient mill cards. Well, as they say, it’s a learning experience.

Thanks for reading! Hope to see you next week.

P.S. Should be reviewing intro packs for SOI soon. Seemed popular when I did it for ORI and BFZ.
