8/28 BFZ Spoilers: Guardian of Tazeem, Hero of Goma Fada, Defiant Bloodlord, and 2 Uncommons!

Hello Guys! Today I’m taking a look at some new Battle for Zendikar spoilers!

guardian of tazeem

Guardian of Tazeem is an interesting card, because it has a land-specific landfall effect. It’s also a great tempo attacker. With fetches in Standard, you can trigger landfall twice with those fetches, which is pretty cool. This card is a limited bomb, because that tapping effect can tap down enemy creatures as long as you make your land drops. I wonder if there is going to be a cycle of land-specific landfall creatures, or if this is the only one.

Hero of Goma Fada 4W

Human Knight Ally

Rally- Whenever Hero of Goma Fada or another Ally enters the battlefield under your control, creatures you control gain indestructible until end of turn.

“They seek to break us. Let us show them our strength!”

Hero of Goma Fada shows us that in BFZ, there’s a new mechanic called Rally that buffs all your creatures when it or another ally enters the battlefield. This makes drafting Allies in limited a playable archetype, because Rally buffs all your creatures, not just the allies.

Hedron Archive is not only a great mana rock that lets you hit seven drops on turn 5, it also has the added bonus of being able to sacrifice for cards when you don’t need it any more.

Rolling Thunder is basically Fireball for an extra mana, and is great in Limited, but I don’t think it’ll see Standard play.

defiant bloodlord

Defiant Bloodlord is a bomb. I don’t see much application in Constructed, but it’s really great if someone finds Standard application for it. It’s also very overcosted, so I don’t see myself using it much.

Hope you enjoyed! Thanks for viewing!
