A Week Into Origins, Languish up 24%, Almost Everything Else Dropping.

card money

For all you financial folks out there, Magic Origins spoilers have now been up for a week, and I have some news. Languish, a board annihilator is the only card that is gaining significant value, almost $1.70 today. Nissa and Liliana are the top two cards price-wise currently, 26$ and 20$ respectively, and are gaining steadily. Here comes the problems. Gideon recently dropped a whopping 10%, and Jace dropped 3%. Cards with high expectations such as Day’s Undoing, Archangel of Tithes, and Goblin Piledriver are all falling in price. What does this mean for the value of Origins? The overall set still has high expectations, but how will these recent price drops affect player choices? I try to pinpoint a few cards every set to add to my long term binder, which has cards where I keep for a long time to increase value. I originally targeted Day’s Undoing, but it recently dropped a 1.50$. Nothing to fret about, and pricing before the set comes out tends to be inaccurate because no one has actually used cards, but I’ll be keeping an eye out for more price drops. What do you think about the situation?
